Starting my PPL

Hello all, I am starting my PPL in a few days and I am excited and nervous at the same time.I will be training at my local FBO for my PPL,Instrument, and commercial. I will then probably go to one of the flight academies to finish up with my instructor ratings. If anyone has any advice it will be greatly appreciated.

1. Have fun. Training is one of the best things you'll do. I have great memories of my training days.
2. Don't spend money on crap. Sporty's flight bags (get one at Walmart), noise cancelling headsets (buy a used normal headset on Ebay), etc. You'll be excited and want to buy "pilot stuff" and there will be a lot of people ready to take your money. Spend it on flying planes!
3. If you don't like your instructor, fire him and get a new one. It's your money; you're the boss. Find a great instructor; it will make all the difference. Not a great school, but a great instructor anywhere.
4. Don't waste money on flying nice planes in training. Get your training done in the cheaper planes, then checkout in the nice ones later.
5. Have fun. If you can't enjoy it; don't do it.:D

Otto is right on (again!). Also, do a search on this forum. Your question is one, as we say in a courtroom, asked and answered. There is no shortage of advice and opinions here; just be judicious in separating the wheat from the chaff. Good luck, and have fun.
