Default First ride in a Private Jet!

I am currently a student getting my private. I have aspirations at becoming a commercial pilot someday...Hopefully in the corporate world. While hanging out at my FBO I met a pilot who flies a Falcon 10. He offered to let me ride along with him the next time he went to drop the plane off for maintanence. Well, today was the day. It was amazing. I have flown in little cessnas and large commercial jet liners but this was a total different experience. For anyone out there getting down about all the money and time it requires to get where you want to go, don't give up. I can't wait for the day when I will get to fly amazing aircraft like that and get PAID to do it.

Sounds great! I'd love to get a ride in one of them!

My first ride was in a Citation as C0-PILOT! I had no experience in a jet and no training in the jet. It was the, "Gear up -- Shut up" kind of experience. It was only after the flight that someone else explained about the training and ground school requirements to act as SIC. I did not take the time out of my logbook however.

I was amazed at how smooth and quiet the experience was. Props are for boats. LOL

Yea, the plane is certified for two pilot operation so it would be impossible for me to get to sit right seat and still be legal. It was an amazing opportunity. I have only been around planes for about 6 months, but I am constantly amazed at how nice the people are and how they are will to help and answer any questions you have. I can't think of any other industry where someone will freely give up information to someone who could some day become their competition. I think aviation is a great place to be.

My first ride was in a Citation X, which was awesome. My second ride was the same day in the same company's Citation V, also cool. This was also before I had any idea how a person was able to become a corporate jet pilot.

That is really cool guys. I've yet to get the chance to get to be in the right seat in the flight levels. I have yet to even been in the cockpit while on the ground. Here at AUS there has been a Legacy sitting around. I'd like to just go inside and check it out.
