Commercial,multi, then cfi?

Hi guys,

What is your opinion about doing multi engine in between CSEL and CFI? Because at my school that might be the way it will work out with pre requisites and things. Is a whole semester without doing a lot of single engine work before CFI a bad idea??

Thanks

A lot of people do that, although taking an entire semester off from ASEL will mean a bit of rust.

The potential benefit is that if you somehow stumble on an opportunity to log some ME time in the meantime you can jump on it...ME time is usually the hardest ticket to punch on your way to an airline (or corporate job).

I have know a 2000+ hours ASEL CFI without a ME rating (he couldn't afford it). That's bad financial planning...

I did my multi prior to CFI at a collegiate program, but I took the CFI ground school course at the same time as the multi ground school so as soon as I finished my multi I jumped right into CFI.

If your college allows it, see if you can take the courses concurrently (I just lucked out in that they were both Fall classes at my school).
