Default CFI Hiring in Korea

Anyone interested CFI position in South Korea?

Competitive salary.

Now we have newly changed salary system for our flight instructors. The salary will be a total of basic salary and hourly payment in accordance with flight hours.

1. Basic Salary
The starting gross annual salary for 1st 6 months will be $35,000. The annual salary will be increased every 6 month by $5,000 when the instructor shows normal or above performance. The gross salary includs taxes, insurance premiums and retirement grants (The net salary per month is approximately 12/13 x 85% of gross/ 1/12 of gross is a portion of retirement grants which will be paid at the completion of 12mths of duty)

2. When instructors total flight and FTD hours over 40hrs per month, $17 will be paid per hour. We expect that almost all instructos fly average 65hours per month. This means instructors will be paid approximately $425 per month extra.

3. The total gross income per month will be expected to be as follows;
- 1st 6mths : Approximately $3,300 / month = $35,000/12 + $425
- 2nd 6mths : Approximately $3,700 / month = $40,000/12 + $425
- 3rd 6mths : Approximately $4,100 / month = $45,000/12 + $425
- 4th 6mths : Approximately $4,500 / month = $50,000/12 + $425

Don't worry, it is on the outskirts or Seoul. I've seen the ad for the job repetitively posted on websites for the past few months. I wonder if they don't get enough takers.

They are guaranteeing 760hrs per year and $31000 for the first year, going up if you stay on past a year.

The Soju is pretty damn cheap. It's not the best but it does the job. The Korean BBQ is also pretty interesting. A salary of 31K seems a little bit on the low side to me. If it's your last option, why not?

Seoul can be a little expensive but not too bad. I was there last summer (really hot and humid) and there are a lot more foreigners now than before, so no more awkward stares from the locals.
