Patwas

I'm interested in learning more about "PATWAS or Pilots Automatic Telephone Weather Answering System

I was reading about it and understand it's kind of like TIBS and I wanted to access it to get a first hand experience but I can not figure out how too/what number to dial. If you dial 800WXBRIEF and press 3 you get connectedto TIBS, butI'm pretty sure PATWAS is something entirely different. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is though. Any help would be appreciated

From another site:

re. TIBS, digging through an Airport Facility Directory, I found a dedicated phone number: 1-877-4TIBS-WX. I gave it a try, and it does work. I used two simple voice commands and it then generated a recently updated recording specific to northeast Iowa, and it told me of nearby airmets for icing and IFR conditions (I checked aviationweather.gov, and that info was indeed current). TIBS seems like a relic, but I suppose if you didn't have an internet connection and didn't want to talk to a live briefer it could be useful.

re. PATWAS, it is no longer described in Aviation Weather Services AC 00-45G, so I'd guess it no longer exists, and the commercial exam question on it is badly out of date, just like the question about the Composite Moisture Stability Chart.
To be the most accurate - PATWAS is still in the AC 00-45G, but only under the "Appendix B: Contractions and Acronyms Page 11-11"
