i really need your help

dear forum members
my name is sahar and i'm from tel aviv-israel-like so many people in this forum i own a big flying career dream too, and in my country it's impossible to fufill that dream-so i'm thinking of training in the usa and because i'm outside of the country i need your help in choosing the best flight school for international students as far as costs, instructors, housing expenses-just help in any way that you can.
i noticed that when you graduate from any flight school you only have 200-250 flight hours-witch is not even close to the hours required by the regional airlines so how much more money am i gonna need to have the proper flight time-i can only scrath about 30000$-is that money gonna be enough for school and flight hours???-i would really appreciate any help that i can get-thank you

Dont forget about rent, food, etc....... The 30 large usually wont cover 2/3 of the flight training you will need. Good luck.

You got quite a few choices.

- Phoenix East Aviation (FL)
- Aviator Inc. (FL)
- ATP (nationwide)
- American Flyers (nationwide)

There are more out there but I am familiar with all the above schools that accept international students.

First off, is your dream based on what the job USED to be or CURRENTLY is. That's a common mistake on most people's dreams these days. It used to be worth it to spend a bunch of money and time in getting your training. The job itself is unique and really is what you make it. However, if you have to pay for training, it is currently not worth it financially. Not sure if it ever will be.

Secondly, 200-250TT isn't far off from getting hired at a regional. If I had to do it all over again, I would go to the cheapest possible school. Most times you get what you pay for. Not in aviation though. They are all pretty much the same. It seems like the more expensive ones just figured out how to rip you off more with shinny flashy airplanes.

Why do you want to fly for a USA regional? Have you checked into cadet programmes at air carriers in Israel?

Welome - The terms and conditions at Cathay Pacific are not that good for 'cadets' but for a pilot without any flight experience, they will pay for your training, and guarantee you a job at the end... Something to consider!

Cheers!

Worst. Advice. Ever.

ATP? I've heard nothing but bad things out of that outfit. Their customer service sucks. They have no idea what any of their branch locations are doing. They'll leave you hanging if you need additional assistance. Blah, blah, blah...

To the original poster, do yourself a favor and keep doing your research before you jump into this business. Ask as many questions as you can before you drop your cash in someone's slush fund.
