You can us the OM in MSFS, but not in a plane, that's why the plate says "DME or NDB required. The reason is there is NO way to know before hand the OM will indicate when passing it.
GF As far as real VFR flying. I would venture to say 95% is done via GPS. So technically they are violating the basic rules, but that's just how it is today. What's real fun is during a flight review is shut off the GPS and tell them to get you point A to B via their sectional. |
