Default Florida Flight Schools?

Hey everyone,

Aviation Major here that learned the hard way to NOT be an Aviation Major.

I have my Private and about 100 hours and I am looking for a flight school in Florida to get my Instrument and Commercial (M.E.L. and S.E.L.). I would obviously also need some time building in their to get to prerequisite standards. I really would like a place that is affordable and good to their students..

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are several in NW Florida, Hook up with the Civil Air Patrol to work on your instrument and build some time. Plus you'll get to learn valuable professional development skills and talk with pilots of all walks of life!

I actually live in Kentucky, but plan on moving down in January. Where I move totally depends on the flight school.

Indian River Flying Club. The people there can get you reasonably priced instruction under part 91. Must become a member, but I did it and found it to be a very good deal. No multi's presently. Indian River Flying Club

You need to talk to J. Lumley at FD08 Antiquers Aerodrome.

This communication never took place. I was never here and never told you this. You will forget this communication took place.

I run a small part 91 flight training service just about 15 min away from the Daytona International Airport, at 7FL6. If you want some info about my company or the other local schools around here shoot me a line (I'll try to be as unbiased as I can!) I'm probably too new on here to PM, so you can send to andremcgarry at flyhayes dot com.

Default Crystal Aero

I did my CFI through Crystal Aero Group and can not say enough about it. They do not advertise much in the US (mainly Europe) but are top notch. 10 planes, in house maintenance, the owner is a retired Navy guy and his wife is the DPE. The area is nice if you want to take a family or you can stay in one of the school rooms for $15/night. PM me if you need more info.

They are located in Crystal River Florida...just north of Tampa and just west of Orlando.
