Who in the hell do you think you are? How dare you call my modified Star War GXS9704 a flying @%#@ing hunk of shi# Lawn Chair (lawnchair) !! Damn you to the deepest depths of hell!! I happen to command the most sophisticated flying @%&# box of our time! How dare you!!

P.S. I also have the privilege to fly many other antiquated turds around our polluted atmosphere.

Yeah I've been flying out of FDK. Word on the taxiway is that the tower should be up early 2012!

Thanks for the replies fellas!

Throw my thumbs up for Dulles Aviation as well. Got all my license and ratings there except the CFi where I failed the checkride with the fed. (to this day I don't know why )

It's a good operation. They sold some of their airplanes but they have still some good stud there.

The chief instructor Tom Adams is an awesome guy.

Not to throw my fellow young CFIs under the bus, but are the CFIs there pretty experienced?

My last CFI had around 500 TT and I spent half the flight showing HIM how to use the GPS...

It would be great to fly with some experienced "old timers"

Anywhere you go you're likely to find new CFIs. That said, the chief CFI at Dulles Aviation has been there forever. He was my boss when I worked there 12 years ago. There are also several CFIs still working that were on staff when I was there.

Although experience is important, I've personally found that sometimes I'd rather have the enthusiasm of a new instructor over the cynicism and indifference of a guy that has come to realize CFIing isn't what he wants to be doing.

Aviation adventures at HEF and JYO also has a good rep. Stay away from AV-ED.

Why stay away from AV-ED? They have been great in the past. Excellent planes, simulator, and staff. Granted, this was a few years ago.

Dulles Flight school ended up closing its door back in May. Such a shame with all the history.
