What's the scoop on the new Private Pilot PTS and the Commercial PTS? What's new?

No idea specifically from me. I just posted the information that came across an e-mail this morning. I'm not up on what the old-vs-new PTS would be or what the cahnges might entail.

If someone is REALLY interested in seeing the differences I guess this would be a good place to start:

All publications are available on www.faa.gov under the Training and Testing menu. For PTS guides, select Airman Testing, and for handbooks, select Training Resources and Guides. Printed copies should be available through the Government Printing Office (GPO) in May 2012.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is nothing new.

Full stalls are nothing new

Where did you guys find the new ones? I followed the links in USMC's original post to this site:

Airman Practical Test Standards (PTS)

But found nothing newer than mid-last year.

Heck DirectTo - that might be the newest.
Just because we just got this notice doesn't mean it was *really* new stuff :D I don't keep up with this like a current flight instruictor would so I just posted it for information and thought it might provoke some good discussion about the future of test standards in light of recent moves in training and evaluation.

Pilot Practical Test Standards
The commercial and private PTS with the nov 2011 date, effective June 2012

The stalls aren't new but they added a big note at the beginning of the section.
