Getting to 250 also.

I live in the Akron area (OH). If anyone wants to fly and split time or needs a saftey pilot let me know and I will be glad to join. I have 178 hours Private/Insturment. I fly out of SkyPark (15g). The aircraft are cheap to rent there, i.e. C-150 from 40 and hour, C-172 from 70 and hour. Please post and let me now. BTW I am new to the forums. I have read things here for awhile and I loved what everyone was psoting and decided to join.

Peace out.

$40 , $70 an hour?? damn i pay $160 an hour solo rate on a 172. :(

aenima396 10-23-2006 05:23 PM

these arent new

most are 1970's with dual nav/xomms and maybe DME if we are lucky. what are yours?

Puppyz 10-23-2006 05:25 PM

if im lucky its a new R model with GPS and the works. but usually its not its an old P model thats seen better days. No DME, lucky if a VOR works at all and no GPS. Ill only take the R into actual. I don't mind flying the P models, but I just wish it was cheaper. Their both the same , $160 solo rate.

where are you from? what airport do you fly out of? are you close to OH?

Puppyz 10-23-2006 05:32 PM

I fly out of new york. HPN. I'm doing a 141 program though so the school only lets me rent from them :( . I have about 48 hours left in the course, approx 20 hours solo time to fly off.

I would run away from that school as fast as is humanly possible!

Unless you are doing your training under the VA and require 141 I would take those hours and go somewhere else and apply those hours to part 61. The worst I have seen for a 172 EVER was I think $160/hr and that was a 2006 with the G1000. I wouldnt expect to pay more than 90/ at the most from any school even if they are sp's a 172 is a 172 is a 172

Puppyz-
You could try this place at the field you already fly at http://www.flypfs.com/ It will save you almost $40/hr for the 172. The prices up north are crazy though, their duchess is $105/hr more than what I pay in SoCal, for that price the plane should shoot its own approaches

yea it does seem very high i got my private and instrument for about 7 grand and i have 178 hours with about 11 grand invested
