You don't have all the answers. No one does. Inspectors know this. That said, how you handle yourself when an inspector has you face uncertainties will be instrumental in determining whether you pass or fail your CFI exam.

For the flight portion, just keep talking, and you should do well.......

P.S.The ASA oral exam guide is excellent.

P.S. Know where to look when you don't know the answer.

P.S. Any effort to B.S. them when you are uncertain will garner a bust. Sure, effective communication is essential, but a proactive acceptance of ones own limitations is the key.

Are you getting the airplane instructor (CFI) or the instrument instructor cert (CFII)? How can we advise you if we do not know which exam you are taking?

Interesting that you are pursuing both at the same time. Why? That presents much more risk to you, in my humble opinion. I was grateful that I had already been a seasoned CFI for awhile before persuing the CFII. Not sure why you feel you need to unless you think you might save a couple of bucks banging them both out simultaneously; especially when the vast majority of your instruction will not be instrument instruction. I think the expectation for excellence from the POI will be held at an even higher standard then.......

Doing both- or actually doing neither perhaps? You sound like a pretender thus far. If you sound this way to a bunch of CFIs imagine how you are going to sound to a professional DPE. They are expert lie detectors. I do not know if you are telling the truth to us, but you had better believe what you are telling your DPE on your exams. They know a line of bull quicker than anyone can spin them.

I'm doing both because I did American flyers program, the fsdo was way backed up so for money reasons I came back home to finish up, you guys seriously have some issues just assuming things, I ca,e for help and ur calling me a pretender? Because I'm doing both at the same time? That doesn't even make sense, instead of jumping right to the criticizing for whatever reason you decided to go that route, just help me out like I was asking, I'm about a week away from my sign offs

Cubdriver and myself have both offered and imparted tips to assist you. Have you read any of the other posts above? You're welcome, btw....

Your last post would have been very helpful a week earlier too.

The lack of both timely responses by you and incomplete information at the beginning of this thread by you had left both Cubdriver and myself wondering what was going on and now you are surprised and passing judgement on us for trying to help you. Please!

No hard feelings JJ, we are not here to make it hard for you, but you asked about as poorly as you possibly could and you see the result. Now here is a suggestion how to ask this sort of question-

"Hello, I am doing the 30-day CFI/ CFII 30-day program at American Flyers at the KDPA location (etc.) and I have a few questions about it. First, does anyone have experience with this program? The checkride is through the local FSDO and obviously I am a nervous wreck about taking two instructor exams at once, plus dealing with the feds. What can I expect? Anybody ever done this? Is it the gauntlet they say it is? Any tips or tricks I should know?"
