If anyone has attended Aerosim Flight academy please give me your thoughts on it. How much did Fafsa cover for most people? Could you recieve Fafsa for just the Pilot program not the degree program? What is the training atmosphere like?

Yeah it does but I was trying to finish my college as well. I already have my private license, just trying to find a school that I can get fafsa as well as flight train.

your spending that money needlessly... you can do it for a lot less at a number of schools

Okay do you have some colleges that offer fafsa for school and flight training for less?

Middle Georgia College would be about 1/2 of what Aerosim is quoting. They are also a state college with lots of financial aid options including fasfa.

A friend of mine goes there now and I am yet to hear a complaint. Loves the warm weather and the flying. He is doing the helicopter program.

I would get a non aviation degree, and do the flight training on the side.

I did some of my helicopter training there too but that was close to 10 years ago. Good times! The only negative is Eastman, Ga is in the middle of no where but I drove an hour everyday from Warner Robins so other than the drive it was nice. I know the place a has changed a lot since I was there but they have some really nice equipment and resources.

MGC is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. I'm not exactly sure how it is now, but 10 years ago the equipment was new, maintenance was superb, hourly rates were operating cost only fleet wide, instruction (both ground and air) was paid by HOPE (Georgia Scholarship Program) and the facilities were top notch. They were a state owned school, so at it's inception cost were not a factor. Since then they have joined forces with MGC and added on a 4 year program one can earn their bachelors in aviation or other degrees. The downsides are middle of no-where, must import your own good looking women and drive 30 minutes one way to the county line liquor store to get your whiskey.
