Denton is insanely overstaffed at the moment. Most instructors are barely flying. The aircraft are dated, and spending more and more time in MX making it difficult to fly when you do have a student. Management is generally solid though, which I do like a lot. I just wish we had better equipment..

Hey Guys,

One quick question. How many students do you get as a new CFI-I at USAA. I will be interviewing next week but I want to be sure I can make a living in Denison/Sherman.

Thanks

Just thought I'd bump this post. US Aviation is hiring as many instructors as we can get right now. We're ramping up with lots of new students arriving in January.

We just bumped up our sign-on bonus. Sign-on bonuses up to $5000.

US Aviation recently increased our hourly pay significantly. Our new pay structure is $25-$27 per billable hour to our new instructors with a $2500 sign-on bonus, and 30 days of free corporate housing. Call and ask for Erica Mahan to get in the next stans class.

We are in a stage of growth. We have new classes of student coming in and are hiring to accommodate for those new students. There are sixty new students coming in the next couple months.

but is there a timeframe contract to keep me instructing for a specific period of time or I can leave the school whenever I get a better opportunity in the airlines?

The bonus is spread out over your first couple paychecks, but there is no one year or X-hour contract. You can contact our recruiter, Erica Mahan for more details. Or PM me for her phone/email.

Is this still the case? Are the planes constantly down for MX?
I'm trying to gather some more information about this school, hoping to get any updates.

We keep aircraft in reserve every day and lately MX has not been an issue. US Aviation recently increased pay rates for A&Ps (and CFIs) to make sure we retain staff for our increasing level of activity. Also just got in two more classes of students, so there are students waiting for you to start teaching them.

Feel free to call in and ask for our recruiter. She can put you in touch with current CFIs here.
