Post 9/11 GI Bill Tailwheel
Wondering if anyone has had any luck getting a tailwhell endorsement added via the post 9/11 GI Bill? Not much help from the VA's help line (this is my surprised face), but the general consensus seems to be that this would fall under "recreational" not "vocational" flight training and probably wouldn't be covered. Anyone hear/know anything different?

I don't think tail wheel falls under achieving a rating or certificate. It's not required for any commercial, or instrument or multi add on which the VA covers. I think the only way around it would be if you used the tail wheel acft to get a rating of some sort except for pvt pilot at a 141 school

It must be an approved training course at a 141/142 operation.
It's possible there is such a course because there is a legitimate commercial purpose: bush flying. It's also possible that a school somewhere incorporated a tailwheel endorsement inn their commercial course, that would be an excellent use of the required time building. |
Do you already have all of your ratings? No reason we couldn't do lets say the first 5 hours of the CFI or commercial rating in the PA18 and then continue on in the M20J at the school I work at.
