Help with these multi-add on Places

MultiEngine - travelairs, Texas, 2nd cheapest

Traverse City Michigan Air Plane Flight Training - Traverse Air Inc. Aviation Traverse City, Michigan. - piper apache, Michigan, cheapest

Action Multi Ratings - Multi Engine Training Specialists located in Groton, CT. - Seneca's, Groton, ct

Hello all, I would like to add the multi add on to my commercial cert. Anyone with feedback ( where you stayed, transportation etc ) and thoughts of the program. I'm planing on escaping the Az heat the second week or so in August and Michigan or Connecticut look pretty nice.... Texas thunderstorms could hamper things

Thanks in advance for your comments, and if you have anywhere else that is cost feesable and a good program give me a shout! I know there are many threads on the subject matter, however I would like as current feedback as possible thanks!

Anyone want to split some multi in Arizona let me know

Have you thought about ATP? 26 locations and you could do it in about a week. Never a shortage of instructors or aircraft.

Traverse Air is a good place to go. The people I know of that have went there have good things to say about the place. Plus the out the door price including the DPE fee of under 2k in 2-4 days is hard to beat. (well I think its impossible to beat)

ATP is a nice place with great equipment but most people don't have 4k plus the DPE fee for an add-on. I know I don't!

Call the 1-800 number for a better price. They have so many programs you can't trust the internet price all the time.

I would do CT only because the Seneca is a useful plane to have 5 PIC in. A good amount of schools have Senecas, and if you want to spend a little more you could have 5 PIC in it. So if you wanted to instruct in it later; you could have 2 aircraft as an option to teach in.

Go to All ATPs. They are the best !

Atp delivers the same end result at a much higher cost

I went to action multi in Groton - I'd highly recommend it. Professional staff who gets you through the checkride with no sweat. Keep in mind though where ever you go, it's 5 hours PIC to teach in make and model, per 61.195(f), not 5 hours total. If you don't have a multi engine rating, you'll end up like I did - 1.1 PIC in the Seneca from the checkride, 3.something non-PIC while I worked on the rating. I gained my multi PIC time in a Seminole for the MEI, and 50 something in a Duchess at a certain school in KFPR :) Having PIC time in a Seminole and Duchess allows you to teach at almost any part 61 & 141 school. Seneca time would be nice though. I miss driving that bus!

Much appreciated..... When you went to Action did you rent a car/taxi/hotel shuttle to the airport?

Bueller!?

Just a bump, just trying to find a good operation that is priced right.

Check out Sheble Aviation in Bullhead City, NV. Decent price, efficient training, great people. Plus if you have some left over cash Vegas is right down the road...

All the ones mentioned in this thread are the most economical places around. I do not know of another place personally.

Sheble

Action

Traverse Air

Multiengine training-Tx

Honestly Traverse Air is the best bang for your buck but Tom is booked up usually 2 months out.

Snohomish Flying near Seattle; PA-23 Apache listed at $180 / hour

DALFA 09-27-2012 01:40 PM

Centennial Flyers

$169 per hour for a Travelair + fuel surcharge (I think it's like $12 right now).
$35 per hour for flight instruction from someone with 1,500 hours (not 250-300).

You figure out the rest...

Prairie Air Service is a very good one, Benton KS. Very experienced instructor and very cost- conscious. All he does is multi add-ons, and ATPs and so forth in an Apache.

I use to hear about PAS all the time but hear less of them in the past year or so. Its another one of those places that has a good rep, I just forgot about. The prices on their website have been the same for years. Surely they are not still that low. If anyone has been to PAS recently please post your experience.

Do not get your multi engine cimmercial yet. Get your cfi and ii and teach. Whst you dont know is thst you are going to need at least 25 hiurs in mske and model to be able to teach in thebplace you are going to work.
Once yiu get employed that elcheapo multi add on will cost you more than this method becausr you will need to buy 10-15 more hours in the plane.

Also we have a garmin 430 equipped be76 thst goes for $255/hr dual in seattle area .

I was on staff as an adjunct instructor for a while, the website has not been updated for (many) years because PAS is a word of mouth business, they do not really need the website. Be that as it may, pricing is on the low side and they offer an outstanding value. The main reason to go is the experience of the main instructor, LOTs of knowledge that man has.
