FAA-Industry Training Standards (FITS)
Does this training standard provide any value to someone seeking a career with the airlines? I ask because this appears to be a program aimed at General Aviation, so perhaps it might be too basic for someone who will at some point get more advanced training?
Here's some info on it: http://www.faa.gov/training_testing/...ia/fits_qa.pdf

FITS is focused on general aviation users of TAA, but some of the ideas are potentially useful to any pilot.
FITS should be able to be incorporated into a training program with minimal impact to cost. But with that said if someone is trying to sell your FITS as an excuse to charge a higher price for training then it's probably not appropriate for a career-track pilot.

Looks like this statement is a diference in opinion than what many on the forum consider the *tougher training track*
Certainly learning the TAA systems, and how to utilize them to the maximum extent, imposes certain challenges, but there is no argument that SA is easier to gain/maintain with advent of GPS and moving maps for example.

Because the complexity of TAAs (e.g., automated systems, systems integration, and performance) puts greater demands on the pilot than “legacy” aircraft,
