Fly Better Books -- Simply Outstanding
I stumbled upon these books while trying to improve how we fly our glide approaches and forced landings. The author was an F-86 pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force at age 19 (!), flew F-86's for a number of years including a stint as an instructor in the F-86 and the De Havilland Vampire, commanded a De Havilland Caribou squadron, and then after military retirement he founded an aerobatic flight school which he owned and operated for 23 years.
FLY BETTER......
There are four books:
Book 1 "Aerodynamics and Other Stuff"
Book 2 "Aeroplane Handling Techniques"
Book 3 "The Art of Aerial Navigation"
Book 4 "Flight Instructional Technique"
Every one of these books is a gem, but I especially enjoyed the practical, proven methods of in-flight instruction offered in book 4. Book 2 is essential for anyone learning to fly, and will help remediate any deficiencies for everyone else.
They are free downloads, but they are better than anything by Gleim, Kershner, et al. Enjoy. FLY BETTER......
