Unhappy Student Pilot Needs Help

I need help trying to figure out some flight school stuff and types of ratings and hours for the long run to make it to the regionals.
Which plan would you go for, and WHY?

PLAN A
300 Total Flight Hours with 30 Hours ME time
- Ratings include PPC all the way to MEI
Cost = $56,000 with local FBO flight school

OR

PLAN B
150 Total Flight Hours with 140 ME time and 10 SE time
- Ratings include PPC all the way to MEI
Cost = $55,000 with ATP flight school

Don't waste your time at the FBO - get your ratings get the time and start applying for 121 jobs.

Don't discount the FBO option. Your FBO could be just as good as ATP quality wise, you'll get more total time, and you can live at home. In either case, you'll need to instruct a while to meet the mins. The airlines don't care where you train. ATP has agreements with a couple of regionals to hire at slightly less time. That could be a player but it all depends on your situation. I think there is a lot to be said for staying local. You'll get a wider variety of experience and more hours at the local FBO. I think that those things will make you a better pilot, overall, than ATP would.

ATP is a pilot mill designed to do one thing. Get you your ratings in min time, get you an in-house CFI job, and get you to regional mins as fast as possible, and get you hired. They are good at that, no doubt, but there are better ways to get there, if you ask me. A lot depends on your personal situation.

Isn't that four things?

www.prairieairservice.com, you'll save at least $20K over what you quoted above.
