Realistic to get a job with basic CFI only?

Hello all,

Anything is possible, but what is the chance of a flight school hiring someone with only a basic CFI? No CFI-Instrument. Does it happen very often?

Thanks!

Some offer for you to work for them and get the other certs at the same time. I'm sure schools hire CFI's too.

Happens all the time. Even at the big academies. However, be careful where you invest your time and effort.

If you feel comfortable with instruments, go take the written, take a flight, get the sign off, and take the checkride. It is an add on rating, so there is a whole lot less to do. Knocked mine out in two days.

i only have my CFI-A at the moment. when i did my interview at a local flight school, the owner asked me if i am going to get my CFII. some schools MAY offer you a deal to instruct in exchange for a CFII add on.
but it really is not that complicated if you already have your initial. written-sign off- checkride.
