Default ATP Flight School - Outside Hires

Anyone have a good handle on the hiring situation there these days?

I only did one rating over there - do they only hire their 0-hero students as CFI's there? I did my Comm/ME-INST a year or so ago at ATP. Wouldn't mind instructing there sometime.

How likely are you to get your choice on location? Can you transfer locations somewhat readily if you want to move?

How soon before you are teaching in the twins?

I spoke with them a month ago, and they were backed up wiih instructors. Might try them again and see. If anything has changed, will you post? I did my CFI training with them, and would like to do some instructing for them also

Right now slim to none. They even stopped the promise of a job for ACPP graduates because of how over manned they are. If you do manage to get hired you will find out the day after you pass stans (or day of) where you are going. Transfers are determined by seniority. There are a lot of instructors leaving because of poor working conditions. Good luck. If you have any questions I am a recent graduate.

They are now open in Denver, with Oakland, SLC, and Cincinnati opening shortly.

Couldn't tell you just heard about it today. I know they still have a lot of guys that were promised jobs who haven't even had the chance to work there yet. I ended in Aug (but did elect not to do CFI school) and there's guys that were there with me who haven't even started at the call center yet.

Is this big bubble caused by lack of students or is it because of the airline mins going way up from what they were a year ago?

Combination of both. They got a contract with Arizona State to due all of their flight training. Here's where I always said they false advertised. If you were part of the guarantee group of job you were only promised a job for six months provided you passed stans etc. Yet they have instructors who have been there for years. I literally watched them hire instructors to fire them because they didn't need instructors. I wouldn't say they lack students but if they did things a lot different they would get all the students in the U.S. who really want to make a career out of flying.
