I work at another forgin flight school in Ca and while i never have worked at Sierra i have trained multiple new hires at my place of employment that left Sierra. As others have said training forgin contract students is a challenge. A good Standardization dept can make a huge difference in your success and from what i here they dont have much of one. There a lot of schools that are hurting for CFI's so don't sell yourself short.

Well, I ended up not taking the job.
Cons-
1. This place was a dump. I mean really run down, broken windows, broken light fixtures, dirty carpet. My room smelled horrible. It's a dump.
2. My standardization instructor was constantly dealing with problems around the school. It really left me with a bad impression. I.E. a room full of Chinese students waiting for an instructor that wasn't in that day. A student that was apparently scheduled to fly with the instructor but he couldn't because he was "standardizing" me. I was told to meet with the instructor at 8am only to find out that he needed to teach another ground school at 10am. I was told to meet him the following day at 1pm only to find out he needed to fly a stage check at 2pm.
3. The place was a dump...
4. The place was a DUMP...
Pros-
1. Everyone except the VP seemed really nice.
2. You can fly a lot.
3. Housing was ridiculously cheap. 50 dollars a month.
4. Food was basically free. $3.00 for breakfast and dinner... lunch was free.
5. They were willing to reimburse moving expenses up to $300 if you stay at least 90 days.
6. Towered airport with 11k foot runway.
All in all if you're a young man with no family or kids this would be an OK deal. Lots of flight time a cheap living expenses. Hope this helps.

I actually just got an offer from Sierra. I am a CFI with over 1000 hrs. But I have no multi time, no MEI I plan on getting those ratings there. I am also low on the X-C time to meet ATP mins. I have a good friend there and he seems to love it. He is flying about 90 hours a month and got three students about two days after getting there. I plan on making the move. Living in NY however is a long way out to Cali. Is anyone on here working there now I can PM....Thanks
