Keeping people in line through general fear is nothing new over there. It goes back to when it was Comair/Delta Connection academy. They really were obsessed with the minutia. While they treated me well, it was a ridiculously expensive option and the atmosphere did not reflect the reality of airline culture, especially when it comes to airline training.

KaizerShizer you don't have enough posts to get PM's, I would like to talk to you about your post, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks

Hey KaizerShizer you are my hero. The Post you wrote was absolutely 100% accurate. I never knew there was a place what could make me absolutely hate flying. But thank God I don't work there anymore. I work for a new flight company now. And it's slowly allowing me to enjoy flight instructing again. I absolutely hated working for Aerosim. And also got all my ratings there except for private. But it was one of the worst experiences of my life. They even treat the customers like crap. Because After you sign on that dotted line. the money is guaranteed. I recommend steering clear of this place. The only thing they are good at is advertisement . They should actually look to go into advertisement . because I see them marketing on every other website. They are always Hiring CFI's even when they are overstaffed. there are like 300 students there at a time. and they will have some guys with no student and another guy with 8 student's. Was just an absurd place to be at. STAY AWAY!!!!

I left after getting my ticket for Comm. single add-on. Would not recommend.

Yeah if you enjoy getting henpecked on trivial irrelevant details like what type of screws are used to hold the cowl on, go to Aerosim! I went when it was Delta Connection Academy.

With my multi and MEI, got wise and went to ATPs. DCA/Aerosim multi program was like months long and $10,000 realistically.

Nope. It's done in house with a company check instructor.

So the in house check airman is not a DPE? I was under the impression that as far as CFI ratings were concerned there were only a few states that allowed DPE's to give the ratings. All other states were done through a FSDO, I haven't been current on CFI matters for a while but this was also second hand information to me at the time. I never actually saw a source proving in house examiners were not allowed to give the ride. That is interesting stuff right there.

Correct. The checkride is conducted with an in house check instructor. I don't think it has anything to do with what state you're in but which flight school you're doing your checkride with. AeroSim has a lot of benefits with the local fsdo (i.e lowest time required for commercial vert, in house checks, etc).

C'mon guys it's a flight school. 95% of instructors are looking to move on to something else after padding their logbooks. I mean let's just be honest...who cares?

Yeah we could make a thread about every flight school and nitpick every little minute detail but what's the point? Get your time and move on. This is not a legacy airline and most of you are not going to be instructing for 20 years so who cares???

Hey Da40. It's been a while. I'm curious about what you ended up doing. Hope things are well. Merry Christmas!
