Airlines and CFI sign offs?
 

I was just wondering do the airlines care about a CFI's track record in terms of their students pass rate on CR's? Even though this doesn't necessarily reflect their flying ability, it does demonstrate their professionalism and potential to teach/lead others. I have a couple interviews coming up soon and was wondering if this is something that i should reference?

During some of the interviews I've had, I was asked about my performance as a CFI, but it was a quick discussion before moving onto the next topic.

I would treat it like your college GPA on a resume. If your pass rate was good, include it. If it wasn't so hot, don't include it. Some things are better left unsaid.

I have never been asked about my CFI record in an interview.

I did have one of my former students write me a letter of rec. though.

Yes, I have been asked my first time student pass rate on interviews.

Never been asked. But if it was really bad, the FAA would maybe do a 709 ride or something. That they will ask you on your application.

It would not hurt to try to earn a Gold Seal CFI. I have gone to a few airline interviews, and they did actually ask how many sing offs I had. I only had a few since I was normally instructing part time. The airlines were not concerned. I simply explained.
The Gold Seal CFI is a good way to show an excellent record of training. It will speak volumes.
Do not be overly concerned with having a high quantity of sign offs. An excellent record shows good judgement on your part.
