Goes to show you, CAPT will put you anywhere. They don't care about your future...only the placement statistics that makes them look good so they can lure more people to their lair. Unfortunately, good people got taken by all this nonsense. The good news is, CAPT is going to be paying instructors and utilize resources to get these people current. Bad news is, new cadets will be footing the bill in higher tuition costs later down the line. At the very least, the investors of FTSI will now see their first invoice to CAPT's mistakes. One would think that CAPT, pushing their elite status, would do their research and make sure that they are placing people in the right places. But all they wanted was to show the world that their program can put 225 hour pilots in the 747. Today is a great day because it just shows the level of incompentence and the way CAPT operates.

I'm glad I didn't take CAPT's bait when they tried to push Focus on me. They were pushing Focus on me the way a drug dealer would push their warez on the streets. Now why anyone would continue to show interest in going to CAPT is beyond me. Why invest all that money into CAPT? If you want to buy yourself a job, go to ATP or DCA. At least there's a solid track record there!

I could be mistaken, but even counting the Focus guys as "unemployed", hasn't CAPT placed most of their graduates into jobs? They've even got people there still in the program that have jobs already lined up for them at regionals the day they graduate. It seems your take on CAPT is a little extreme.

Counting the Focus guys as unemployed only brings down their placement statistics even further. The point is not necessarily their placement rate, but the shady attitude and their lack of respect and consideration to their customers. They've made a lot of promises when I signed up that they simply did not own up to.

I recall a conversation where the Chief Pilot stated, "I don't know where you got this idea from" when we all complained that the program advertised as 10-12 months when we signed up is now looking to be more like 18 months. The funny part of the whole thing is, at the time, CAPT was advertising in AOPA magazines stating "One Dream, One Career, One Year". And before this conversation took place in the lounge, someone had torn out that page and pinned it to the bulletin board as a mockery of the fact that CAPT still FALSELY advertises their training timeline.

I'm not arguing that they are now placing people (albeit, if you consider Pinnacle a place everyone's is killing to get into). What I am saying is that they will do you dirty if you don't kiss their ass. As long as you know that your $85,000 investment includes you kissing their ass and some other stuff I will refrain from stating, then go right ahead and sign up.

But make no mistake. It's an expensive training program that doesn't give you anything more than what a good flight school elsewhere will give you except for that DC-9 type rating...which...its value is only to say you're trainable...something that a regional airline will quickly find out if you are or not once you get there.

When they can get their graduates hired into Sky West or Republic or American Eagle out of the gate, then they might have something there. But today, all they can get you into is Pinnacle and possibly ASA (maybe not because their minimums are still outside the reach of CAPT graduates with 225 hours of legal, loggable time).

Do it cheaper elsewhere. Build the time/experience, and then go into the regionals with a badge of respect from your peers. Going to CAPT is expensive and although it may get you in, that is not to say that it will happen to you. And I rather take my chances not getting in doing it a lot cheaper than putting all my eggs in one basket and find someone else end up where I am today.

Just remember, if CAPT can't get you hired, you're 100% screwed with only 225 hours on the books with no CFI. You have to wonder just how confident they are in their ab initio program to now offer CFI/MEI training as well as time building packages. They'll likely say they're expanding their business. But why would they need to if their ab initio program is such a success and in high demand? Simply put, they know that the ab initio program isn't what they initially dream it up to be. And the unfortunate part of it is that people like me paid for it with our souls.
