What aircraft did you learn on?

Just interested in knowing what GA aircraft you learned on. Was it the C150 or 152? Something else? I am a potential student trying to determine what flight school I want to go with. One starts students with the C-152, another starts students with the C-172.

Please advise..

Mostly C172 for me (multi stuff was in a Seminole). Looking back I would have gone with the cheapest thing I could find, even if it was a C152.

Piper Cherokee, liked the low wing flying better for me for some reason. Then did a diamond DA20, c-182 for commercial SEL. Piper twin Comanche for multi add on.

C152. Find the cheapest thing you can to fly in. All you are doing is checking the box. I spent ~12k for private through CFI. It would have been way more had I gone with new trainers with all the bells and whistles. BTW, this was 2000-2001.

If you and your CFI can fit in a 150/152 fly that and save some cash.

C172.

I got a few hours in a C150 later on and am very happy I didn't train in it. I'm 6'1" and it was uncomfortable. Two people my size would be an exercise in space management.

C172.

And it's my lottery plane. Aim low fly slow.

C152 for private and time-building. C-172 for instrument. Piper Arrow for commercial. Seneca for multi-engine.

1968 C150 for private. Just the cheapest POS I could find. Glass DA40 for instrument training, and a combination of the DA40, C162, and C172 for time building.
