FII vs. IGI exam?

Studying Shepherd Air cfii (took foi, and fia and passed great prep tool as often said).

Issue is Shepherd won't let you down load another test until you finish the ones you are working on or it wipes out what you currently have... I guess even on a second computer...

I want to take cfii and igi at the same time but I know the test bank is somewhat different...

Should I roll the dice and wing it and take both same day or take one and then do the other - is the test questions that diverse?

thanks...

FII vs. IGI exam?

I did the tests the same day and scored one point higher on the IGI vs the FII. Only had one question on helos on the test that was not fixed wing or covered by the general FII

Sheppard has a different database for FII & IGI. I took them separately. Seemed like there were more than a few different questions when I took them, but if you know your stuff it shouldn't be a prob.

The question banks are almost identical, save the money, take both tests the same day. That's what I did

Just curious...why is everyone spending the money to get ground instructor ratings when they have (or will soon have) FI ratings? What do the written tests cost these days?

I studied for the IRA, FII, and IGI exams all at once, using only Sheppard's IRA study guide. Got three scores all within a point of each other (around 92%, thanks to SA's great study software). No need for separate study guides.

FOLLOW their instructions on how to study! I managed to pass the ATP written a couple days before the 31 July deadline, only due to Sheppard and their study strategy.

People get the ground instructor ratings for a few reasons: if you lose your medical, you can stay involved as an instructor, and you have to have a ground instructor rating to be eligible for Gold Seal CFI.
