Type schools
Looking at a couple of different schools for the 737 Type. I've looked at Flight Training International, Higher Power, and K&S Aviation. Any thoughts on any of these or any I didn't list?

I got back from HPA last week with my 737 type. It is a great company and it was a great experience. PM me if you have any questions.
There is a lot of info on this website about all those companies if you search for it. |
I did mine at HPA in 2006. My suggestion: don't do it at all until SWA offers you a job.

If you have a job offer with a type contingency then jump right in (HPA is great BTW). Otherwise, to spend the money on a type for resume fodder without the PIC time to back it up is lunacy. |
I signed up for my HPA 737 Classic Type/ATP in November. Anyone have any experience with doing the sim in CLT? Specifically with the sim location. I'm looking at hotel locations to use my hotel points vs. paying cash and whether you can get by without a rental car.
Thanks! |
Thanks for the feedback, guys. I have all the requirements plus some nice extras, but what I'm hearing is that they'll look at people who are already typed first as they can start class quickly. I figure that since the initial qualification look is all computerized now, by filling in the type box I will have a higher chance of getting that call. We'll see. Sometimes it's about rolling the dice... Thanks again.
