Flight Schools in Long Beach CA

I am transitioning military and looking for a good flight school in the Long Beach CA area with the goal of eventually getting my ATP. I see there are several schools there but I know enough to know I don't know which ones are good and which ones are a rip off with lousy equipment. Does anyone have recent experience?

How far are you in your training?

As a current serving mil pilot I shopped around for flight schools as well. I would highly recommend Pacific Air Flight School in KLGB.

They have good equipment and their prices are very reasonable. I've been flying with them for the past year...no complaints. I did my IPC check there in Feb with Jason...cool guy.

PM me if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your advice. I'm not a pilot though. I'm an MP. I'll be starting from scratch when I retire.

lol I was an MP too before I want to WOC's and flight school. Im sure we've chewed on some of the same dirt somewhere. Good luck on the mil to civilian transition. Once again, if you have any questions hit me up.

Do you have the Post 9/11 GI Bill? If so, you can have 100% of your flight training costs covered. You can start from private and go all the way to MEI. The only requirement is that you be enrolled in a degree seeking program (associates or bachelors). I was enrolled in a community college that offers an associates in aviation/flight technology. I also had the VA pay for by bachelors degree at the same time I was enrolled at the community college. I graduated with a bachelors and an associates along with all my certificates and ratings. I did not have to pay a dime (thanks taxpayers, I owe you one).
They will even give you a housing allowance (e-5 with dependents bah).

Don't pay for your certificates and ratings if you have Post 9/11.
