Advice needed for future pilot
Hi guys, I just joined the forum and was looking for some input. I 28 and have always wanted to fly I just don't know where to start to make it into a career or how to afford it. I have 2 friends that fly for major airlines that have been giving me some advice but they have been very busy. The one friend had told me about ATP but it seems odd to go from never flying a plane to getting my commercial license in only 6 months. I am looking for some input on where I can go to school and how to affordable is it. I currently live in Eastern WA but moving to a new area is something I am willing to do.

Next, most of the questions you want answers for have long been asked and answered in this forum already. Please use the search feature (@ top right) and invest the time to seek out the answers (ie. you have to read a lot). That alone will prove to yourself whether you really want this or not.
Also, look through the pages and titles of threads in this sub-forum ("Flight Schools and Training") as well.
You should be warned: It is a very long, narrow, and difficult path you are thinking about climbing. It is only for the most determined of people. This is why, to a large degree, there are so few of us as a percentage of the overall population. Also know this...the majority of even the most skilled, dedicated, and experienced never reach the summit.
Buyer beware! It's true the rewards can be incredible, but they are by no means guaranteed. The costs (monetary and otherwise), on the other hand, are guaranteed and you can be certain sure you will pay them.

You didn't say if you had flown at all (Lessons), worrying about a career without familiarization makes no sense. You may not even like it in large doses. Build a little time, take it from there.
