Looking for a school

Im just about to graduate College with a degree In aviation management. I Have a private pilots licenes and i started my IFR training but thats it so far.

I was going to go to ATP to get the rest of my licenes but a lot of people told me that the tuition is too high. Wheres a school that has a fast track and give a lot of bang for the buck.

ATP is a good deal. Of course it high - look at what you get....

Do NOT go to ATP. Find a local instructor you like and do as many ratings as you can with him/her.

Small family owned flight school, mostly career CFI's. They'll save you about $10K over ATP and you'll get just as much multi.

As long as they have enough airplanes you can fast track at any flight school. You can fly as much as you want, they won't say no to taking the money. As far as bang for the buck, you will need to study hard and make sure you have a competent instructor. Finding a good instructor may be the difficult part. Don't buy into everything you read about how great some of the big schools are.

I don't think ATP is a bad deal for what you get, as long as you know your **** before you get in. You can just as easily do the same thing at just about anyother school though for pretty much the same amount of money or less. Your best buy would be to buy your own plane, maybe with another partner in the same position. Fly your pants off in it, then sell it. That will give you your best bang for your buck.

Do NOT go to FTSI/CAPT. They are VERY expensive and you get a lot less flight time on your log book and a lot less certifications compared to what else is out there. Shop around, ask a lot of questions, and get EVERYTHING in writing. What you don't see in writing does not exist and impossible to litigate later. There are many less expensive, more reputable flight schools out there to choose from that will give you a lot more.
