In flight video

Background: Having come up through pt 141 and 61, then military training, one thing that stands out in my mind is the use of video as a debrief and learning aid. Even if I didn't fly again for several days, I could always go back and review my previous flights, giving a much higher fidelity to my chair-fly prep and better retention of lessons learned.

Current need: so my teenagers asked Dad to teach them to fly, and we're starting out at the local glider club. I'd like to get a GoPro or something similar; I could mount it just over their shoulder and with the wide angle it could give a clear view of the instruments, yaw string, control movements, and head position. What would be a home run is something that could tie in GPS track data, preferably in a Google-Earth format--e.g.: "Ok, so we see that you are downwind abeam the touchdown point, you haven't looked at the runway since turning downwind [click the map to bring up the Google-Earth perspective], and we see that you only have a 25 degree look angle to the touchdown point with undershooting winds--your downwind is too wide."

I've been out of GA for the past decade, so I'm still getting spun up on the latest tech and trends, so my question is this:
What's available for video processing and/or stand-alone systems? I'm hoping to find something that can marry up GPS data to the video. In a glider, capturing sound and voice isn't too much of a problem, and I know that there are intercom hookups to video cameras available if we migrate to SEL, so audio track is easy.

Garmin | VIRB

You're welcome.

Thanks; I think that might fit the bill. My initial google-fu led me across that model, but for some reason I dismissed it...

Any discussion about techniques for using it in flight and how to integrate the video for debrief? (other forums, threads, blogs, etc.?) Do you have experience using it?

The FAA examiner for my CFI checkride used CloudAhoy: flight debriefing for pilots, flight instructors, student pilots, General aviation, commercial pilots, using iPhone iPad and Android app for flight logging, post flight analysis including flight profiles, cockpit view animation, flight tra . It works with Google Earth on your Ipad and shows you all kind of info from your flight including virtual video of the flight itself. It is pretty neat.

Ok, now that's cool. Looks like it may be a little robust for my needs, but it appears to interface with the Garmin XE, which is a good baseline anyway.
