Point of no return. Advice
 

Well I've been asking for advice for a while in different posts, researching a lot, reading a lot, asking my friends, etc....but now the moment has come, it's time to decide.

Quit my really well paid job in contruction couple of days ago here in Vegas, and I'm packing all my stuff. Next week I'm heading somewhere but don't know where AT ALL.

I have 315h and a expired EASA CPL ME/IR, so in order to get my FAA stuff I should be ok, hopefuly, with some 30-40h of training to prepare the checkrides.

Problems I find when I try to decide.....some small schools seem to fit my needs, but not sure if they would be a good place to work as a CFI, should I become CFI (and I still don't know if it's gonna happen). Don't wanna find myself flying 50h a month in one of those jobs.

Bigger schools would be a good fit for a CFI job, but maybe such a customized training ain't possible in my situation.

Aeroclubs? I know a really relly good one in Denver, with a friend working there included, but Denver rooms are prohibitive (most of them anyway).

So yeah, in 4-5 days I'll jump in my car, with 25k on savings for my adventure the next 4-5 months, and I'd love to know where to go hahaha :D

Come on guys, I'm the first one reading posts all the time and thinking naaaahh I gotta go I don't have time to answer. But stop and take a minute to recommend that nice place. I promise I'll take time from now on to share whatever I'm able to share with all of you :rolleyes:

Anywhere in the US as long as it's worth it, Alaska included :D cuz I can imagine it would be awesome to land my first job.

South Florida, nice drive across country right now. You'll get the cold in the mid west/south and the tropical heat when you get to FL. Alaska is definately an adventure, getting there is half of it. It's gonna be cold as hell but if you're looking for adventure, that's it. And trust me, you'll be telling your grandkids about it years from now, regardless of how much flying you get done.

My head is gonna explode lol. Arizona, California. Texas, Florida.......too many schools. I keep waiting and looking for that "super school", and maybe I just need a well maintained complex in the middle of nowhere, do my thing, and start applying for my first job haha

That's exactly what I found! It was called Webb Air Force Base. :D

I have a small flight training company here in central FL. We'd be happy to help you get your FAA certificates. When and if you are ready for your CFI, there are plenty of larger academies around here that would keep you busy as well.

We are a boutique flight training company, with a 172, myself and another instructor. We cater to a clientele of varied backgrounds, everything from college students, business owners and the aspiring professional pilot. As such we are quite adept at training our clients based upon their different needs and goals. We operate from a tie-down from the local FBO at Orlando Executive Airport and from our hangar at the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport. We have access to other aircraft through third party vendors should the need arise to use a complex or multi engine aircraft.
