FAA vs EASA. Should I go to Embry Riddle HELP
 

:confused: So, I am planning on working in Turkish Airlines. I got admitted to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University for Aerospace engineering and Flight program. Meaning a frozen ATPL certified by FAA. My other choice is going to California Polytechnic State University at Pomona and getting my mechanical engineering degree. On the side of my college life, I will get my EASA certified ATPL from a normal flight school. I still don't know where to get my first 1000 hours of experience hours before going to Turkish Airlines. I would really like some advice and help :confused:

Riddle hires some of its own graduates as flight instructors either via the F1 visa OPT option or an H1-B visa ( assuming you win the lottery for that one )
You can use that time to build flight instruction hours and maybe even obtain a FULL FAA ATP license instead of the FROZEN one.

There are flight schools in Florida that are EASA approved where you can give the EASA ATPL exams and even do the checkride . But I believe if you want an EASA IR you will have to go to Europe.

The thing is that I don't have the oppurtunity to go to europe for my aviation education. So I have to find a solution in USA. Other than being an instructor, how else can I get my first 1000 hours?

FAA doesn't have a "frozen" ATPL like they do in EASAland. I think you need to do a little bit more homework here.

You can NOT get a "frozen" ATPL from the FAA; only a CPL plus ME and IR, then you have to get the required time for the FAA ATPL, basically 1,500 hours with requirements for x-c, night, PIC. Then take the written and the practical.

Are you US or have the right to work here?
