Average time for ME Commercial?

Hello all. I was just wondering if anyone has any kind of insight as to the average time for an ASEL IR PPL pilot with no ME time to do their commercial initial in an ME aircraft? I have about 225 hours total time and about 6 hours complex (no complex endorsement yet, though). I have access to a PA23-150 for 200/hr wet, including the instructor. I'm just trying to figure out how much time to build in the cheaper 152/172 and then begin my commercial ME training with about the "average" amount of time remaining between my total time and 250. I know add on ratings usually take about 10-15 hours, so would 20-25 hours be a fair bet for commercial initial? Thanks in advance!

We usually estimate 20-25 hours, so in that ballpark. Either 20 hours with 5-10 hours of sim or 25 hours of aircraft.

Have access to a ME sim?

I did mine with about 12 hours of multi-engine time. Learn the maneuvers in advance, and remember that you will have to fly a single engine instrument approach in order to have your instrument ticket as well.
