Decisions, decisions
Hi everyone,
This is my first post - so sorry if I sound newbie-ish...
I currently am an accountant living in the UK (aged 27) - and my husband and I are moving to Canada beginning of next year to live.
I have been unhappy in my career for a long time and am seriously considering switching to train as a pilot. Yes I know its costly, and a long path to take but i believe that life is too short to do something you don't enjoy.
Once I arrive in Canada I would be looking to do flight training straight away.
My only concern is whether you think i would get a class 1 medical? I have asthma and take inhalers for it - but its managed well and I haven't had an asthma attack in years - I run marathons and consider myself pretty fit overall.
Additionally is there anything I could do in the UK to get the ball rolling before I go to Canada? Training in canada seems to be considerably cheaper than the UK with a PPL costing £8-10k in the UK compared to $8k in Canada.
Thanks

The FAA may issue a medical for persons with asthma but there are hoops to go through.

I know nothing about Transport Canada's standards but I think they would be close.
