Internships?

I have been searching for some airline internships but have been having trouble finding a lot. I have applied to United, Delta, American, and Southwest. It amazes me that FedEx, UPS, Spirit, Frontier, Virgin America, and every other big US airline does not have a flight internship program. Does anyone have some insight into this, particularly pertaining to FedEx? Also, I do not have an interest in an internship at a regional airline.

Thanks for the help.

UPS does have an internship program, except they call it a Co-Op Program. It is paid and generally lasts one year.

The program was around many years, then went away during the Great Recession, but it was brought back this year; I think they hired the current group of co-ops in August.

ExpressJet also has a decent internship program. I did it last summer and had a great time and made great connections. PM me if you want details.
