Wondering why everybody hates riddle?

Hey fellas I just have this question that is just bothering the heck out of me, that being why does everyone hate on ERAU? Ev'e heard that the guys coming out on there are stuck up and all kinds of other things. I graduated from ERAU while still serving in the ARMY and from what I gather the school took very good care of me. Then again I did not attend the campus, everything I did was at whatever military intallation I was stationed at.

Any reason?

For me, it's the way they mislead high school kids into thinking ERAU is THE way to a lucrative major airline job. It's the marketing BS.

Flight training at Riddle was overpriced and was only marginally better than my FBO. A degree in aviation is only a good choice if you have no other options.

If you stumble upon the search function after a couple more posts, you'll find this topic beaten to death here...

My experience with Riddle is limited to having flown and been freinds with several grads...they all resented the fact that they paid SO much and got nothing more out of it than they would have gotten from a State college and an FBO. Years later, they were still in debt and not happy about it.

These are great guys and girls, I have personally not met the stereotypical attitude-punk riddle grad. My dislike for riddle is based on the fact that they rip people off...but I don't dislike the grads for getting ripped off, they didn't know any better when they signed up.

Makes sence....

Well I gues from that point of view I would feel thesame way as you de727ups and rickair7777. Thanks for your response and hopefully my embry BA dosen't hinder my chances in the future........at least with those in positions to hire people that have a blanket dislike for ERAU grads.

Thanks guys

dude..i am a 91 riddle grad...most bash riddle because they r the ones who attended there and thought they were going to have airlines fighting for them at graduation...and it didn't happen and they blame the school...i enjoyed the education and it got me where i am today...and they guys who interviewed me at FDX had nothing but good things to say about ERAU..good luck

You're not doing anyone any favors recommending ERAU based on the decades-old experiences of yourself and your peers. You know full well the dynamic has changed, and you weren't paying anywhere near the 1991 equivalent of $25,490 a year for tuition alone.

career didn't work out so well ...huh?

Uncle Bose 02-25-2007 08:12 AM

ERAU grads CFI and go to the regionals like everyone else. Why pay the $25K a year for that? Instead of taking little snipes at me, try to examine and respond to that.

CaptainMark 02-25-2007 08:28 AM

gee...let's see....new hire bridge programs...career resource center...web based resume referral service...job fairs..which i used to do for FDX and a few riddle guys who i met at them r here now...go to joes flying school and see if u get that...most guys i knew when i was there did not take advantage of the resources that r there..i did! but if u think u r not worth 25 grand a year than who am i to argue...those 96 grads who i talked to at the job fair who i helped get hired here think it was worth it...

ch-47driver...see what i mean...didn't get that major job at graduation..all riddle's fault
