Default Pilot records at foreign carriers

Does anyone know if foreign carriers are able to obtain FAA training and and accident / incident records as well as 121 air carrier PRIA records?

Asking for a freind.

I would assume not and you would have to request and provide them.

Probably not directly, they would most likely have to go through you. I believe PRIA only requires the records be given to other U.S. carriers, not foreign carriers. It is doubtful any U.S. airline would willingly give out your records to a non-U.S. entity as doing so without the protection of the law would expose them to potential liability. Getting a U.S. company to confirm anything other than dates of employment can be difficult for that very reason. They do not want to risk getting sued for unnecessarily revealing anything that might be in dispute or could cause you harm.

What a foreign carrier can do is have their local CAA request the FAA provide verification of the named pilot. This verification is a letter that states what ratings the pilot holds.

Actually what happens more often than not is the applicant has to get letters from the FAA him/herself. One would be a verification letter and another is a no incident/accident letter.

One comes from AFS-760 Airman Certification and the other from AFS-620 Aviation Data Systems.

My experience has been the local CAA of the requesting country gets the verification sent directly to them.

it must be different for each country. For China I had to get all the records myself and forward them. When I got my TCCA and EASA licenses, they contacted the FAA directly.

Exactly.

Very dependent on the local CAA and how they choose to operate.

All my former employers (the ones that are still around anyways) were contacted and records requested, also an Interpol criminal record was requested.

Too wide of a brush
