The 5 777-200 LR's were purchased used specifically to do the longer US routes (LAX, DFW, SFO) which have been closed or reduced. Good riddance as they were all junk.

The 340's were gas hogs and were scheduled to go many years ago, they were replaced on all long haul routes by 777-300ER's, however rapid expansion kept them much longer than planned. It's good they are gone.

The 330 was previously the mainstay fleet and did the majority of the touristy Europe and Asia routes. They are dated now (But still a helluva lot newer than the Northwest cum Delta fleet) and the current/existing plan is they go 1 for 1 with the arrival of each new 787-9 (another 9 this year) which the commercial department absolutely loves.

As to the curry smell, well...
