Default Air Canada and myidtravel

This is the best place I found to post this question. I booked a flight on Air Canada thru myidtravel, and paid $30 and change for Canadian taxes. That flight subsequently canceled, and in my rush to catch another flight on another airline, I was unable to stop at the Air Canada desk to get a refund. I went thru myidtravel with my pnr number, and received “the backend system is currently unavailable. Please try again later or contact the help desk”. I’ve tried a few times and no luck. I called Air Canada and they can’t help. I went through an Air Canada desk at a US airport, but they aren’t Air Canada employees. Is there a number to call or something? Or thoughts? Or an Air Canada non rev travel desk? I hate going thru that website.

I use Air Canada when I see family in Toronto. I love JSing on AC, they are super awesome.

Yeah you can’t do it that way. Even though MyIdtravel refund for Air Canada says full refund is done through MyIdtravel, and partial refund is done through the way I show below, the reality is that ALL Air Canada refunds must be processed as below because of that error message.

This process is also on the MyIdtravel agreement under Air Canada.

Go here. Air Canada Ticket Refund Application:

https://refundservices.business.cond...refunds/create

For customer type select “Other Airline”

For reason for request select “OAL Employee Refund Request”

Fill out entire form. For “Agents name” I put MyIdtravel.

In the explanation form, say you an an OAL jumpseater looking for a refund because flight cancelled. List your Air Canada PNR number and your ticket number.

And “Send”

Despite what it says, you’ll get the MyIdtravel booking fee back too. It says up to 6 weeks, as I recall my refund was much quicker.
