Well that’s BS, where did you read that? The vast majority of the super fleet for the most part is in storage yes, and the majority of the firings have been on the bus, but there are no plans for permanent retirement of the entire fleet, heck they still have deliveries to take.

So they are not phasing out 45% of their planes? Color me surprised, not.

“ Emirates had grounded all its A380 fleet in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the airline to lay off approximately 800 of its pilots, mainly those flying the A380”

I guess you were half right in a sense.

Sadly it’s not approximately 800; more like 1200 of the 1900 total on that fleet

Was that at least in seniority order?

And is there any partial pay for them or laid off without pay?

It was pretty random after the initial round of most junior.

A380 pilots are on full pay apart from a mandatory 30 days unpaid period. Those laid off were given 90 days full pay and then shown the door

Yeah these third world companies try ever attempt to get around the contracts they write and hold you exactly to the letter when its in their favor. The issue is there is no arbitration there. State owned state rules.
