LCC Long Haul Returning to the States
Italian low cost leisure airline Neos has applied to the USDOT to start operating flights to the U.S. No word on routes/markets yet, but their fleet will include at least some former Norwegian 787s:

With domestic carriers still parking their own widebodies it seems sort of premature to worry about one small airline out of Milan with all of six (6) WB aircraft that it uses to cover “Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Mexico” coming to the US.
Never say never, but I sure wouldn’t buy stock in the company. |

Norwegian didn't have any wide bodies in 2012. Two years later ALPA was devoting a lot of time and money to fight them. Neos sees a gap in the market, and can acquire the airplanes relatively cheap. They may be gearing up for a bigger expansion.
I like our chances if we just ignore them and concentrate on doing what we do economically, efficiently, and professionally. |
But this time it will be different.

I think NEOS is more like Allegiant with narrow and wide-bodies. There is a gap in demand once travel returns, them being the only Italian independent airline that is not bankrupt. They have every right to fly to the US and try to make it work
