Westjet Encore

Looks like Encore is reccruiting foreign nationals to be hired as first officers into a pilot mentorship program they call " Pilot-in-Command Under Supervision." ALPA is pretty wound up about it, tying to challenge the right to work credenetials that would be necessary.

Separately, they are offereing DEC positions. As a retiring 121 pilot (a few years still), I might be interested. Does anybody know if they will be taking 65 year-olds into this recruitement channel? Looks like I have or will be able to easily attain all the quals they specify in the job posting. Love the Q400 - could be fun and a nice alternative to 135.

I use to fly for Encore. Honestly enjoyed it.

I flew with a retired KLM captain while I was there. He was 60 when he got hired. Worked for 5 years and retired from Encore. If I remember correctly his son was a new FO. So he did it so he could fly with his son for 5 years.
