Default Qatar Airlines pay

Scoured the internet for the info, not saying that I couldn't be blind and miss it, but I was not able to find any info on hiring/pay.

Just curious, anyone have any info?

I got a bunch of friends at Qatar, I know it is a very expensive country to live in. I the Cap is based around 13000 usd but it is all inclusive!!!

Emirates better

Qatar Airways is one of the world’s fastest growing airline with an expanding route network covering the Middle East, Far East, Africa, Asia and Europe, with a modern fleet of A300-600, A319/A320/A321, A330 and A340 aircraft. We are soaring to greater heights by way of expansion and progress and we are based in Doha, a modern commercial centre and growing tourist destination.

Qatar Airways offers excellent career opportunities for the right candidates and we invite applications for the post of:

First Officer

Requirements
· Total minimum hours 1000
· 500 hours on type.
· Valid ICAO ATPL or frozen ICAO ATPL.
· Below 50 years of age for type rated applicants.

Type Rating Conversions
First Officers without a rating on the aircraft types we fly must have the following minimum experience :

1) 2000 hours of which 500 hours shall be on medium/ heavy jets.

2) Below 45 years of age for non type rated applicants

First Officers will be given type-rating conversion on the A300 or A320. Only First Officers with such suitable experience at or above minimum required experience will be considered for A330 conversion. All pilots given type ratings will be required to sign service bond with the company.

These positions carry all inclusive average monthly remuneration packages of approximately US$ 9900 (equivalent QAR 36,100) for First Officers inclusive of housing allowance. Other benefits include Meal Allowances/School fee subsidy for children/Loss of License/Medical/Group Life Insurances. All remuneration is TAX FREE.

Friend, you might want to check pprune.com

A lot of Europeans in that forum, they seem to be very familiar with all the Midle East carriers. You won't like what you'll read about Qatar, I promise you. I've never read so much bad stuff about an airline. A bunch of their pilots are from India, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand, and South America. They're having trouble attrackting Western pilots.

Emirates seems to be the best option in that region. Etihad is not bas as Qatar Airways.

As written above, Qatar is not the first choice in Gulf Airlines for the western expat. Latest breakdown on Emirates pilot nationalities shows:

British 13.1%
Australian 10.9%
Canadian 9.5%
American 7.5%
UAE National 7.1 %

I would put South African, New Zealand, Scandinavian countries, Germany, and Ireland high up on the list as well. Also lots from Malaysia and Brazil. Up to 81 separate nationalities at last count.

Would be interesting to compare that to Qatar and Etihad.

A little off topic (sorry) but speaking about diversity, would you say Cathay has the most?

No, not even close. They are majority Australian, British, Canadian and Hong Kong Chinese.

Default Jumpseating on QATAR Air Lines

Sorry for jumping off topic but I'm about to spend a few months in and around Doha on Mil leave with Delta. Does Qatar Air allow jumpseaters to get around Europe on or do they participate in the ZED fares? Thanks if anyone knows and is willing to share. Haven't found much asking around the Delta campus.
