Well....

Aren't you glad you are on the other side of the pond with all that is going on in the US Airline industry???

What constantly amazes me is that the people continually put up with it over and over..... But one reason is they just don't have a whole lot of choices. Almost all airlines are essentially running 87% loadfactors and sadly, their break even load factor hovers around 83% as I understand it.

Fed Court recently struck down a NY law passed a while ago about fair and humane treatment to passengers on a delayed flight. Amazingly, it was ultimately shot down. Reason was that it's the federal gov't who can only regulate airlines, not individual states.

The federal gov't is pretty much a waste at accomplishing much so this nonsense will go on for a VERY.... LONG.... TIME.

I personally always looked to Europe as a stepping stone. Go to Europe fly big jets and build time instead of going to the regionals and working for peanuts flying small commuters. This I did with the mentality that I would someday fly for a US Legacy carrier after getting the appropriate minimums, that plan is sorta going out the window with all the bad news I have been seeing lately, hired one day and furloughed the next??? No Thanks.....
