US citizen working overseas.....

Just wondering what is required for a US citizen to work in a foreign country (Canada for example)...in terms of licenses and such.

Your licence is fine as it will concert to just about anybody's but a JAR. You will require a work permit for Canada and i doubt many companies will assist you with one; this holds true for a number of other places as well.

If you are typed and have time on an airliner that a specific foreign operator can't crew then you will likely score a job in the Asia/Middle East area as they are very short. Without at least a type rating you are likely out of luck.

India has put the brakes on expat FO's by the way, so be careful about that one.

Good luck.
