Absolute shame that Jetstar are resorting to this. There is not a shortage of Australians pilots but a shortage of Australian pilots that will fly for the cr@p salaries they're offering.

I guess there have been enough pilots over here that have been only too glad to work for substandard pay, why not have them do it in Oz aswell.

However you will require a Police background check for an ASIC card, which is required prior to being issued a CASA license.

That was a joke

How do they treat US pilots in OZ?

A shortage of Aussie pilots waiting for Jetstar jobs and their 'crap' wages? I wouldn't call $160 for a starting skipper crap personally, but I would call $65K, as in the former Skybus, or $17500, which is the starting at some US regionals.

I think it's quite good that they are hiring experienced skippers to fill seats instead of pushing through under qualified Aussies and endangering lives. I have no doubt that when the locals are up to snuff, the foreign contract pilots will be sent down the road. Frankly, that's the shame, but it's the way it is.

Now as far as the V Oz wages go, so far that has been a shame; but then again they are not getting many takers either.

My apologies for missing the obvious quip by the way . . . quite.
