If you are coming from a regional you might want to also look at Hong Kong Express. I have a few buddies there and it's not too bad. The housing allowance is a bit light, but they pay for your training (you are paid from the first day), and time to upgrade is pretty decent. My mate came off of an ATR, with about 300 odd hours as an FO on that one, plus somewhere around 3000 hours. If you are currently on an RJ you'd be a good candidate, but everybody I know who has gone there has showed up on their doorstep with an application in hand.
As far as Air hong Kong, I'd just apply online and bug them a bit for an interview. I'm sure they'd be happy to let you in on T&C's if you spoke to them. If you're really interested then a road trip might be a good idea as their hiring is out of Hong Kong at least (haven't heard about a SIN base, but I'll defer to 4FO on that one), so you could kill a couple birds.

I used to work for a US based cargo airline that had a small hub in HKG. After losing my job I had to take a job back in the US for a regional so getting to HKG is not as easy as it used to be. When I was in Asia I would hear Air Hong Kong on the radio alot and it sounded like there was many expats working there. That being said I thought there base was HKG not SIN. If there is not housing, do they have any flight benefits with Cathay, as I do know they are owned or mostly owned by the Swire Group.
I also hear the pay is not the best... do you know anything about the pay?
Thanks again!

I just turned down an interview with them because of the $$.
Only think about it if you're desperate and single.
This is the info they set me..........

- First Officer pay during training - $30,000. After training - $46,000
- First Officers receive $32 for every hour flown up to a max of 45 hours.
- Per-Diem is $3.86/hour away from base.
- Two bases are either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.
- Above figures are before taxes.
- NO housing allowance

Is that the $46K plus the $32 per hour (to 45 hours), plus per diem of $3.86? If so it ads up to about $80K per year. For a senior FO coming from a heavy op that's pretty light, but for a guy coming off an RJ in the States, making what, $20K or so in the right to maybe $60K in the left seat all up, I'd think it's a pretty good deal. Also, how long to upgrade and what's the pay like at that point? This is something I'd be considering as well as it might make the deal quite good in the long term; if you're looking long term.
Why would you care about the bond cost? Do they want you to front it or give a bank guarentee? If not then what's the big deal? These guy's shell out alot of money for people who get their time and leave, so I think a bond is reasonable to cover themselves.
It's interesting, the housing allowance thing. How much housing allowance does the average US based RJ operator give? None I think. It's a nice perk I agree, but if it's a deal breaker then you are on good money at an airline with excellent job security, so why are you looking?

As for myself, and I'm sure you should understand this, I'd like to move closer to "my" part of the world. That's why I'm looking.

Hmmm thanks for the info brother! Ya I see it from both sides of the fence between you and Koru... After getting the kick from a us based cargo airline making 65 an hour and then having to go back to the right seat of an RJ for 24 it sucked... now I much expect more out of an airline that is partly owned by the Swire group since the pay for an FO at both Dragon and Cathay are far better and both have housing... Also the SIN and KL bases are kind of off the wall... with there hub being HKG one would think they would base there crews in HKG, but I just push buttons for a living
The no housing allowance is tough, I have heard that both KL and SIN are pretty expensive.
I also noticed they lowered the mins from 3000tt to 1000tt, so maybe they are getting some PFT folks over there.
Either way I wish Cathay would call ha ha ha well oh well with that...
You guys know anything about Jade?
Man the US market is totally dried up, I cant even get on with a US based cargo outfit with 1000 hours of heavy time.
Anyway thanks for the info guys!
