What's the difference between CREW, CAE Parc, and Rishworth? Also, are taxes withheld for US citizens at Air Japan?

Crew is based in Hawaii and is by far the best option for US pilots. The insurance is the best you will find anywhere and federal taxes are withheld. You are responsible for any state or local taxes.

Parc has a lot of complaints from their pilots. Rishworth I believe goes through Crew.

Thank you!

Is it true that we're not able to fly back home while in training?

Yes. During training just focus on training. It goes by quickly and your spouse can come visit twice once with the kids.

Why does ANA keep Air Japan as a separate subsidiary? Why not merge it with the mainline operation?

Because it’s their expat arm and has separate pay/work rules etc.

Different work rules and pay/taxation structure and probably most importantly, for the ANA parent company, Air Japan is non-union.

Also, what’s the deal with BMI? I have more muscle mass than average. Do they factor that in?

No. BMI is BMI.
Same thing in the Air Force. Guys fail because theyre ripped.
Needs to be under 30 for new hire, better around 26. Once you’re hired you’re allowed to balloon a bit, they’ll just tell you to lose weight every year.
FYI, I’m 67” and 165 and I was repeatedly told I was overweight and needed to diet.

Hahahaha. I probably won’t get a call then. I’m 5’7” and 210lbs. I’ve built up too much muscle in the last couple years. I’ll probably have to change my workout routine.
